a little late and not uptodate, but here it is...
There hasn't been any action in my 'artroom' past week cause I had a very nasty cold or the flu, don't know how to call it, but it had me lying in bed for a week and a half. Feeling a little better now, but I think the bacterias ate some of my braincells: just caught myself putting shampoo on my sponge in stead of showergell. (although maybe that's just me: I almost sprayed deodorant in my hair instead of hairspray once and I never use hairspray;))
Also had all kinds of funny misunderstandings (talking to only 1 person and a cat for a week obviously does strange things to my brain...) My friend told me a story over the phone and mentioned something about a bomb exploding. I really thought: huh a bomb, I didn't hear anything about that...and then ofcourse: oh it's not a real bomb...
Bob, our cat, was a little ill too. He turned into a grumpy old man. So I took him to the vet. (carry around a 6kg cat when you're having a cold is not a good idea..) Had some X-rays of his spine and had a little talk with the vet on problems with the spine and the difference between people and animals. I was thinking real hard (my knowlegde on the human spine&old people really needs updating). And then I heard the vet say: Well, this kind of problem is not typically for the old, it can already be found in a 2 year old boxer.
I'm glad I didn't say it out loud, cause I thought: Huh, it's not possible for a two year old child to be a boxer....oh....boxer, the dog species....oh.....
So our old grumpy cat is relatively healthy (a little asthma and some spine problems). The meds he got for the asthma don't go well with the painkillers, so he's got to wait for a week to try new med's. So he is not his usual happy self, but there's no reason to worry either. It's a fact that he is an old cat (17+ and only living with us officially for 8 months). But I think he's getting a little alzheimer...He's doing all kind of strange stuff. Lately he tends to forget that he has his own personal catdoor and sits like a moron outside. Looking through the window at us wanting to let him in. And when I open the door for him, he doesn't see it. So I (moron too) put on my shoes and coat, walk around the house, call him and he, very happy, races to door... Yeah I'm crazy, I know it;)
Yesterday I really really had to go get some tissues and fresh fruit/vegatables and also bought a magazine (Flow magazine mindfulness workbook) in the supermarket. Turned out it had an nice article on art journaling with some quotes and work of my artsy friend Carin in it! Wow!
here's a photo of her work in the magazine, but if you want to know more: she wrote a blog that has more photo's. And if you're living in Holland, you can find the magazine in the store;)
Didn't get the change to read the article untill later cause Bob really wanted to find out the mindfulness concept first....
In the mailbox the same day I found a little surprise: Carin gave me a journal for my birthday; made it for me. It's beautiful and to be honest, it's kind of scary to start using it...
Another wonderful birthdaypresent came from my friend Loes: a little book made by Els ter Horst with little pictures and a little thread (or several) on each page, connecting it all. Hope it's visible on the photo.
Another great birthdaypresent from my hubby: a new phone! (I am already totally addicted to the Hipstamatic app!!)
Below two digital drawings (screenshot SoYouThinkYouCanDance & drawing; photo Bob & drawing)
some EDM challenges and ugly family members, some old, some new:
and finally a couple of collages from the NaNoJouMo challenge... These are my last two...collage just isn't my thing and I didn't feel like continuing the project with drawings or photos...

Looks as though you pulled out of your funk. The journal with threads is quite a gift. Continue to get well.
